6 square millimeter wiring distribution box

Wire each branch separately from the main switch, ensuring each 6 mm² wire carries only the current of its own circuit to prevent overloads. Key Considerations for 6 mm² WiringCurrent Capacity: A 6 mm² copper wire can safely carry up to 32A according to national standards, while a 4 mm² wire carries 25A. Avoid Overloading: Do not use jumper wires to connect multiple circuits to a single wire, as this can exceed the wire's safe current and cause overheating without tripping the breaker.

Wire Size and Space: Ensure the wire fits comfortably in the distribution box to allow proper heat dissipation.

Step-by-

Step Wiring Process

Turn Off Main Power: Always switch off the main supply before starting any wiring to prevent electric shock. Mount the Distribution Box: Secure the box at an accessible height and ensure the installation site is free of obstructions. Connect the Main Supply: Attach the incoming live (phase) wire to the main MCB or main switch.

Connect the neutral wire to the neutral bus bar and the earth wire to the earth terminal. Install Circuit Breakers: Place the required single-pole or double-pole MCBs in their designated slots.

Double-pole MC

Bs are typically used for the main switch or high-power loads. Branch Wiring: Draw separate 6 mm² wires from the bottom of the main switch to each circuit breaker. Each wire should carry only the current for its respective circuit.

Connect Outgoing Circuits: Attach the outgoing wires from each MCB to the corresponding load (sockets, lights, or appliances). Connect the neutral wires to the neutral bus and the earth wires to the earth bus.

Install RCC

B (if required): For protection against leakage and electric shock, connect the output of the main MCB to the input of the RCCB, then connect the output of the RCCB to the branch MCBs. Check Connections: Use a multimeter to verify all connections are secure, and ensure there are no short circuits.

Safety Tips

Label each wire clearly to identify its circuit. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent loose contacts. Avoid exceeding the rated current of the wires or breakers.

Maintain proper spacing inside the box for heat dissipation. By following these steps, a 6 mm² distribution box can be wired safely and efficiently, ensuring each circuit is protected and the system operates reliably.
