How to install the flange of the optical distribution box

The flange of an optical distribution box should be aligned with the mounting brackets and secured firmly to the rack or wall using screws or bolts, ensuring proper orientation and stability.

Step-by-

Step Guide1. Determine Installation Position Select a suitable location based on design requirements. The area should be dry, ventilated, and free from water leakage or high-voltage cables.

For indoor installations, the bottom of the box is typically 1. 2–2. 5 meters above the ground, while outdoor installations are usually 2.

8–3. 2 meters high. Avoid unstable or non-load-bearing walls.

2. Prepare the Flange and Brackets Most optical distribution boxes have flanges on both sides. Attach the mounting brackets to the flanges using the screws provided.

Ensure the brackets are firmly fixed and oriented according to the planned installation direction. 3. Align the Flange with the Rack or Wall Position the box so that the flanges align with the designated mounting points on the rack or wall.

Use a level to ensure the box is horizontal and vertical, with perpendicularity deviation not exceeding 3 mm. 4. Secure the Flange Fix the flanges to the rack or wall using expansion bolts or screws.

For rack-mounted boxes, insert the bolts through the flange holes into the rack frame. For wall-mounted boxes, use appropriate anchors for the wall type. Tighten all fasteners to ensure the box is stable and cannot shift.

5. Introduce and Route Optical Cables Once the flange is secured, feed the optical cables through the cable entry points. Use grommets or protective sleeves to prevent damage.

Ensure the cable length allows the front panel to be fully extended without tension, and secure the cables with cable ties as needed. 6. Final Checks Verify that the box is level, the flanges are firmly attached, and the cables are properly routed.

Label the ports and record installation details for future reference. By following these steps, the flange will be correctly positioned, providing a stable foundation for the optical distribution box and ensuring proper cable management and accessibility.
