Where is the power supply wire connected to the distribution box

To connect a power supply wire to a distribution box, connect the phase and neutral wires to the main MCB, then route through protective devices, and finally connect the earth wire to the earth link.

Step-by-

Step Connection1. Safety First Before starting, ensure the main power supply is turned off to prevent electric shock. Use insulated tools and wear protective gloves.

2.

Identify Components

Main MC

B (Double Pole): Acts as the main switch for the distribution box.

RCC

B (Residual Current Circuit Breaker): Provides protection against leakage currents. Single Pole (SP) or Double Pole (DP) MCBs: Control individual circuits. Neutral Link: Distributes neutral to all output circuits.

Earth Link: Connects all earth wires for safety. 3.

Connect the Incoming Power Supply

Connect the phase (live) and neutral wires from the incoming supply to the input terminals of the main MCB. If using a DP MCB as the main switch, both phase and neutral are connected; for SP MCB, only the phase is connected. 4.

Connect to Protective Devices

Connect the output of the main MCB to the input of the RCCB.

From the RCC

B, connect the phase wire to the input of SP or DP load MCBs. Connect the neutral wire from the RCCB output to the neutral link. 5.

Connect the Earth Wire

Connect the earth wire from the supply or earth pit to the earth link in the distribution box. Ensure all metallic parts of the box and load devices are also connected to the earth link for safety. 6.

Connect Load Circuits

For DP MC

Bs: Connect both phase and neutral terminals of the load to the MCB output, and the earth to the earth link.

For SP MC

Bs: Connect the phase terminal of the load to the MCB output, and neutral and earth to the neutral and earth links respectively. 7.

Organize and Label Wires

Use plastic ties to bind wires neatly, keeping wiring straight and organized. Clearly mark the phase, neutral, and earth wires, as well as voltage levels, to avoid confusion. 8.

Final Safety Check

Inspect all connections for tightness and correct placement. Ensure there are no exposed wires or potential short circuits. Turn on the main supply and test each circuit for proper operation.

Following these steps ensures a safe and functional connection of the power supply to a distribution box, protecting both the electrical system and users.
